All Khotso accommodation options share the same fundamentals: open mountain views, easy access to trails and riding routes, fresh spring water, and proximity to natural rock pools for wild swimming. Wherever you stay, you’re well-positioned to spend your days outdoors and return easily at the end of them.
Our accommodation works equally well for independent travellers, families, groups, and organised tours.
Self Catering Rondavels
The Rondavel will be completely your own, and each has its own facilities for your sole use.
Our self-catering rondawels offer privacy and flexibility, with uninterrupted mountain views and direct access to trails. Each unit is fully equipped, allowing guests to cook, settle into longer stays, and move at their own pace while remaining close to the lodge and activity areas.
Every rondavel has one double bedroom, 3 single beds on a mezzanine floor, a decked balcony overlooking the gorge, an internal heating stove and a separate braai area for cooking under the stars.

Campsite & Overlanders
Underberg and the Southern Drakensberg has a well loved campsite.
The campsite is set along a stream that runs through the grounds, forming small rock pools that are ideal for cooling off in after a day spent exploring the outdoors. All sites have mountain views and easy access to trails.

Khotso Lodge
You bring your stories, your personality, and it’s this atmosphere that makes the Lodge the social, lively, unique place that it is.
The main lodge is the central meeting point at Khotso, with shared spaces for meals, planning the day ahead, and gathering in the evenings.
Rooms are practical and welcoming, making the lodge a natural hub for guests arriving from different places and moving together into the mountains.

Log Cabin
If you’re looking for the most incredible group accommodation in the mountains, our Log Cabin has been built for you.
The hand-built log cabin is set slightly apart, offering a more private stay while still benefiting from mountain views, spring water, and access to trails and swimming spots. It’s a good option for families or small groups wanting a quieter base within the Khotso grounds.
There’s also a large standing braai area and a wide deck to the front of the building for relaxing with a drink as the sun goes down.
